Doug Bakker worked at DePaul University for over 13 years in various capacities. Most recently as an Associate Athletics Director, he oversaw athletics compliance and worked with all of the sport programs to comply with NCAA, BIG EAST, DePaul and other state and federal requirements. Additionally, Doug served as the sport administrator for the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs when they won their first conference title in DePaul history. He was the primary liaison for the athletics department with various other University departments, including admissions, financial aid, and housing and also assisted with DePaul's SAAC. Doug served as the assistant tournament manager for the 2006 and 2012 NCAA women's basketball first and second rounds as well served in a similar role for the 2014 BIG EAST women's basketball championship. He served on the NCAA Reasonable Standards Committee for compliance professionals with the committee's mission of shaping policy on the best practices to monitor, educate and document various NCAA compliance rules issues for Division I institutions. Doug holds a BA from University of Illinois and a JD from DePaul University Law School and is published in the DePaul Journal of Sports Law and Contemporary Problems, and has been a faculty member of the MSA program since 2009.
Doug is now the Assistant Dean of Professional Development Programs at Northwestern's School of Professional Studies after serving as the Director of Graduate Programs at SPS since 2018.
