About me
Ashonna Tubbs, Ed.D. is an educator, researcher, and systems leader committed to designing learning environments where diverse learners can thrive. She serves as Dean of Clinical Experience at Relay Graduate School of Education.
Dr. Tubbs earned her doctorate in Mind, Brain, and Teaching from Johns Hopkins University. Her research explored how instructional design, faculty practice, and institutional structures shape academic engagement in online teacher preparation programs. She is particularly interested in the gap between intention and impact, and how systems can better respond to the varied identities, experiences, and needs learners bring with them.
Across her work, Ashonna integrates research, reflective practice, and a deep commitment to helping mission-driven education leaders reconnect to their own clarity and purpose. She believes meaningful teaching begins not only with strategy, but with awareness, an attunement to who we are, how we show up, and how our presence shapes the learning experience.
